Quick hairstyles for long hair:

1. Low Loose Bun:

This is a great look, both for the office and a night-out. And perfect to create in the early morning rush as it hardly takes any time.
• Start by combing out hair nicely to remove all tangles and knots
• As this look will go best with straight hair, you can use a styling iron
• Now part hair in the middle and bring all your hair back into a low pony at the nape of your neck
• Secure it with a hair elastic
• Now take the loose hair of the pony and roll it up till the place where it’s tied
• Taking the tips of the hair, roll it around the tied section
• Secure tightly at the bottom with a hair pin
• You can also use another hair elastic to secure it tightly

2. Braided Pony Hairstyle:

do it yourself hair ideas
This is a really interesting and different hairstyle that looks quite difficult but is actually quite simple to achieve and takes no time at all! For this look, you may or may not choose to straighten out your hair, as this will also work on hair that’s slightly wavy. But if you have very wavy hair or hair that’s curly, you may want to smoothen or straighten it out a bit.
• Comb out hair nicely to remove all knots and tangles
• Comb back hair in two cross sections
• Part hair in two sections so that’s there’s an upper part that consists of the top and medium layers of hair and a lower part that has only the bottom parts of hair
• Bring the top part to one side of the head and tie with a hair elastic a little above the nape
• Now take the lower part and braid this, not very tight, yet not very loose
• Secure with a hair elastic
• Once done, bring it over the ponytail and roll over it
• You can secure this with an accessorized hair tie

3. Braided Bun Hairstyle:

This is another really easy hairstyle for long hair that looks extremely difficult and complicated but in reality, can be styled in just a few minutes. This look will go great for office, for formal events as well as for a glamorous do.
• Begin by combing out hair and removing all tangles and knots
• Taking hair from one side of your hair, braid tight
• Bring this to the other side of the head
• Secure both sides with a bobby pin so that it stays in place
• Take all the loose hair and pull it up, twisting it from the base as you go up
• Tie it into a messy bun at the top of your head

10 Hair Buns For Short Hair With Styling Tips

1. Side Bun: This is a very popular hair bun style for short hair. To get this look at home, comb hair at a side parting and gather all the hair on one side. Hold your hair in a low pony and tie it just above the ear. Now roll up all the hair and tie it up like a bun, keeping it low. If you have bangs, let them flow loose. Just make sure the bun is at the same side as your bangs.

2. Messy Back Bun:

This too is a simple bun that can be done easily at home and is quick to accomplish. Gather all your hair at the back like you would for a ponytail and tie it up in a bun, leaving it a bit loose at the bottom, letting the tips hang out of the bun. The idea is to not make it too tight. Leave your side and front bangs loose.

3. Low Neck Bun:

This is a very elegant look that will go great with off shoulders, halters, backless, low-back dresses and gowns, and is a great look for a classy party or even a special party with your girlfriends. Comb back your hair and gather all of it near the nape. At the back, take the hair little towards your left side and make a small bun, tying up the hair in the middle and leaving the length from mid to bottom very loose. Now gather the loose hair and pin it up in your hair with an elegant brooch or flowery accessory clip.

4. Braided Side Bun:

This is a really easy hair style that you can do in a few minutes. Gather all your hair at one side and make a braid towards the back. Once done, secure it firmly with an elastic. Now take the braid, roll it like you would roll up your hair for a bun and tie at the nape. Done!

5. Top Knot:

Top Knot hairstyle
This is an eternal favourite in summers, especially if you’re always on the go. Comb your hair neatly and bunch it up at the top of your head. Roll all your hair into a tight bun and secure tightly with an elastic. Since this look is quite simple, make sure you add a dash of colour on your face and wear some simple accessories, otherwise it may look a bit dowdy.

6. Ballerina Bun:

Want some more twists than just doing a plain bun? The ballerina bun is a great way to add some style and fun for your short hair. Comb your hair and gather it from both ends just above your hair. Your hair should now be partitioned into an upper and a lower section. Take the upper portion to make a tight messy bun at the top back. Now make small sections from the hair that’s left over at the bottom back. Twist them up and pin them at the bottom of your tight bun.

7. Twisted Low Bun:

This is a favourite wedding hairstyle for those with short hair and also for the bridesmaids. Comb your hair to take out all the knots. Gather all of it at the back. Now twist the hair from the bottom and roll it up till where the middle part of your head is. Pin the twisted hair tightly at the middle back. If you think it’s still a bit loose, fasten it with a fashionable brooch.

8. Small Nape Bun:

If you have very very short hair but would still like to tie it up, comb your hair and make a side parting. Gather all the hair at the back, towards your nape, and tie into a tight bun. You can leave the little strands out, or if you want a really neat look, pin them in. This look will go great with smokey eyes and a nude/light lip look.

9. Side Pinned Bun:

This is a classy yet simple bun style for those with very short hair, and can simply be pinned in, rather than tied. To get this look at home, comb your hair loosely, letting your natural waves show. If you have bangs in the front or sides, you will like to keep them loose for this style. Pull all hair on one side and loosely roll them, pinning them up low, preferably at the back of your ear. This again, depends on your comfort, and if you feel it’s quite loose, you can lightly tie it up, adding a beautiful accessory in top.

10. Messy Loose Bun:

Comb your hair, letting your waves take centre stage. Gather all your hair very loosely upwards and tie it up in a loose bun, placing your hair in the middle of the back of your head.

Beauty Cheat Sheet: Find Your Best Eye Makeup Look for Any Season

imaxtree

If eyes are windows into the soul, it makes sense to pay them special attention when you're applying your daily (or nightly) face. You're no doubt aware that makeup trends, like fashion trends, aren't meant for everyone, so how do you make sure you've got the best shadow/liner combination for you? The looks that will really make your eyes pop, that will give you that alluring gaze whether you're at a board meeting or batting your eyelashes over a cocktail glass, are based on your specific eye color and shape. We've put together a primer for you to size up your gorgeous eyes (no matter their shape or position) with your color, to get the best possible effect.

The Shape of Things

Deep Set: For deep set eyes, the key is to brighten and open them up to show off their full potential. Make sure you've got concealer on hand to cover up not only the circles under your eyes but any other color inconsistencies surrounding your eyes, shadows, green spots, whatever they may be. Choose a light shadow that's just a bit lighter than your skin color (a touch of iridescence won't hurt either) and apply it from lid to brow bone, to create an open effect. Don't forget to apply the lighter shade to the inside corner of your eyes. A liquid highlighter can work to the same effect, just make sure you blend. When it comes to using eyeliner and darker colors, focus on the outside corners, and leave the inside natural looking.
Small: Follow the same brightening tricks for deep set eyes, but don't hesitate to line your top lid, creating an eye-opening effect. Use a waterproof mascara on the bottom to further open them up. Shimmery shadows reflect light, also creating the appearance of wide eyed beauty. Make sure you use highlighting shadow or liquid highlighter to accentuate and accent your brown bone. Perfectly groomed brows will maximize the space on which to highlight.
Heavy Lidded: You've got those bedroom eyes? You're the envy of many a woman. Make the best of it by getting those brows groomed, to maximize the visible space. Next, focus on the lower lid and lash line. Smudge brown liner for a natural focus that brings focus to the center of your eyes and balances your lids. Curled lashes will create a wider gaze, too, so don't forget to brush upward and onward with your mascara after you've crimped.
Downturned: If you've got eyes that turn down at the corners, no worries, you've got a built-in vulnerable look that tugs on heartstrings. Make it even better by applying a lighter color shadow from the center of your top eyelid to the inner corner. Then blend in a middle shade over your lids, stopping before it reaches your eyebrows. Use the darkest shade on the outer edges of your eyes. Make sure you've got it blended well!
Big Doe Eyes: You've already got an advantage in giving a truly arresting stare, beautiful makeup will only enhance it. Groom your brows, but keep a natural-looking thickness. Too thin, and you'll look off balance. Feel free to apply darker colors to your lids, and highlight your brow bone, you'll need dark liner around your waterline to really draw attention to your gorgeous irises.

Color Theory

Hazel Eyes: Hazel eyes have perhaps the most versatility with color. These blended irises often have flecks of gold, or blue or green, and are a motley mixup that allows you to play with a lot of color, including eyeliner options. Think about purple, green or gold for a night out. If you've got blue in those hazel eyes, consider a soft pink to brighten and accentuate them. Overall, pick out one color in your hazel and accent it with your makeup, as per below.
Blue: Blue, as a cool color, can look positively icy if paired with other cool colors. To add warmth and dimension to your gaze, try warm colors, earth tones and coppery shadows. Forest green, brown, even burnt orange can provide the perfect accent.
Brown: Dark eyes are the kind people simply get lost in. They give the impression of emotional depth and mystery. Nice, if you've got 'em! Really accentuate those dark shades with beautiful neutral colors that don't distract from your inborn power gaze. If you must use colors, do so sparingly.
Green: Green eyes really pop with plum and burgundy colors. Think of yourself in the purple family. If you've got deep brown eyes, go for cooler purples, if you're eyes are light, cool green, you'll want to go with darker shades of eggplant and mauve.
Amber: This rare shade looks gorgeous with neutrals, gold and copper metallics, green, purple…just about everything, except for silver and pastel shades. Stick to warm tones on the color wheel and you'll be sitting and looking pretty.
